Patellar tendinitis

Patellar tendinitis

Patellar tendinitis , is the inflammation of the tendon that connects the muscles of the legs and thighs to the kneecap. The most common causes are overuse or injury, incorrect posture, abnormal position of the joints and infection (rare).

What are the symptoms?

Pain in the affected knee, accompanied by swelling and pain when pressured. Most of the time there is a history of some injury or accident in the remote or recent past, although it occasionally appears without apparent cause.

Discomfort increases when moving, and in fact it prevents movement almost entirely, leaving the knee immobilized and incapacitated to be stopped or to walk, the pain is much more intense when going up and down stairs.

Discomfort appears during rest, but decreases enough to be able to sleep. Pain is most intense when trying to move the knee by flexing or extending it

What is the treatment for patellar tendinitis?

At the Centro de la Columna Vertebral we offer our exclusive combination of medications, which are applied intravenously and have the primary function of relieving pain, reducing inflammation and stimulating the regeneration of the shoulder bone, ligament, and cartilage that may be affected.

We can complement this treatment with physical therapy, as well as the application of both local and intraarticular infiltrations with different types of medications for immediate discomfort control, including chondroprotective and stimulant medications for the regeneration of tendons and ligaments by oral administration.

We have clinics in the country’s main cities:
Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla , Queretaro and Satelite.
